This program is a raw disk sector reader/writer. It enables the user to
examine the blocks of a disk and modify them as necessary. Make sure to
have a backup of the disk being examined as it is very easy to corrupt a
disk such thatAmigaDos cannot access it. Also, no checks are made to verify
that a disk has been changed between reads or writesso as to allow blocks
to be moved from one disk to another.
Enjoy...

Display Commands:
a - Switch to Ascii Display
h - Switch to Hex Display
m - Display About... Menu Item
help - Display These Help Screens
The displays may also be switched via the depth-arrangement gadgets. It is
best to use these when the program is idle so that the transitions can be
detected. Clicking the left mouse button in the window will guarantee
that it becomes the active one.
Disk Commands:
u - Enter Disk Unit Number
b - Enter Block Number
p - Enter Physical Disk Parameters (Cylnder, Head, Sector)
r - Read Block From Disk
R - Read Root Block From Disk
^w - Write Block To Disk
+ - Increment and Read Block
- - Decrement and Read Block
Be wary, some commands force a read ofthe disk. This could result in loss
of changes made in the current buffer. The program does not do automatic
writes.
Disk Commands: (continued)
o - Set Origin Block
O - Read Origin Block
The origin block concept allows the user a sort of 'stepping-stone'
feature. This is an easy method of returning to aparticular block on the
disk, just as with the <R> command to read the root block. The difference
is that the user specifies the block. The <o> command will set the origin
to the current blockand <O> will read that origin block.
Buffer Commands:
e - Enter Data into the Buffer
z - Zero the Buffer
c - Checksum the Buffer
Data may be entered into the buffer byeither hitting the <e> key or by
selecting the byte with the mouse. Boththe mouse and the arrow keys may be
used to move the data entry point. Data entry is terminated by either
the <F1> key or by selecting a non-data part of the screen with the mouse.
Search Commands:
E - Enter Search Data
C - Change Search Data
f - Find Search Data in Buffer
l - Toggle Locate Search Data
s - Search Blocks for Search Data
S - Search Disk for Search Data
The search functions allow the user tosearch the buffer or a disk for a
pattern. <f> searches the current buffer, <l> searches the buffers as
they are read in by the user, <s> searches a range of blocks, and <S>
searches the entire disk.
Misc. Commands:
H - Hash a Filename
